Zebra Mobile Label Printers

ZQ series printers for labelling at the point of work rather than at a bench. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi builds are separate part numbers, so specify the radio at order time.

Zebra Mobile Label Printer Questions

Pairing, battery life and media for printing at the point of work.

Which Zebra mobile label printer should I choose?

The ZQ series is the mobile range. Smaller models suit receipts and short labels carried on a belt, while the wider ZQ600 units handle 4-inch labels for shipping and warehouse work at the point of use.

Start with label width, then check radio type, since Wi-Fi and Bluetooth builds are separate part numbers fixed at manufacture.

For a printer that stays on a bench, see desktop printers.

Will a mobile printer work with a phone or tablet?

Yes, on Bluetooth-equipped models. Zebra mobile printers pair with Android and iOS devices, and most warehouse and delivery applications support them directly.

Check the radio before ordering. A Wi-Fi-only unit will not pair over Bluetooth, and the interface cannot be changed later.

If the operator also needs a device to run the application, see Zebra mobile computers.

How long does the battery last on a mobile printer?

Zebra mobile printers are specified to cover a working shift under normal print volumes. Heavy continuous printing and cold environments both shorten that considerably.

Where a printer is in constant use, a spare battery is far cheaper than a second printer and means a flat unit does not stop the round.

Cold storage and outdoor delivery work deserve particular attention, since capacity falls sharply below freezing.

What media do mobile printers use?

Mobile printers take narrow rolls sized to the specific unit, so media is not interchangeable with your desktop or industrial printers. Order the roll specified for the model.

Mobile printers are direct thermal, so there is no ribbon to carry. The roll is the only consumable, which is part of why they are practical in the field.
